next steps

start here

If you are new to the church, we would love to invite you to join us at Start Here! This one-time class is a great introduction to Ironwood Church, where you’ll have an opportunity to meet some of our leaders, learn more about our church structure, and take simple first steps toward getting connected.

Rooted

If you have taken Start Here and want to make Ironwood Church your home, Rooted is for you! In this three-week class, we’ll walk through our membership and doctrine packet, share in detail about our various ministry, community, and serving environments, and give you opportunities to learn about how to intentionally connect and engage as a committed part of our Ironwood Church family.

After participating in Rooted, your ‘next step’ options include becoming a covenant member, joining a Small Group, and getting connected to serving teams.

Small Groups

Small Groups are leader facilitated groups that typically meet in homes. Activities vary from group to group and week to week but may involve any combination of eating, learning, playing, sharing, celebrating, praying, and serving.

Spiritual Formation Pathway

Start Here and Rooted emphasize connection; The Spiritual Formation Path emphasizes growth.

Spiritual Formation is the process of growing closer to Jesus and becoming like Jesus. This happens over the course of our lifetimes as we talk with him, worship him, and learn more about him. Our Spiritual Formation Path is a series of classes that help lay the foundation for a lifetime of walking with Jesus.

Baptism

Baptism is an immersion of a believer into water, symbolizing that he or she is united to Christ by faith, has experienced new birth, and professes a new allegiance to Jesus Christ. At Ironwood, we typically practice baptisms during our services. Those who are eager to get baptized can contact the church to request being part of an upcoming celebration.

Note: When a child under age 12 wants to be baptized, the child’s parent(s) are required to meet with a pastor prior to the baptism celebration.

Covenant Membership

In a culture of consumerism, Membership provides an opportunity to truly commit to Ironwood Church. Members affirm their agreement with the church’s mission, doctrine, and values. Leadership affirms their commitment to equip, care for, and shepherd the members.
