- Been a fun, wild last few weeks.
- Have been part of 6 in-home vision meetings in the last two weeks, with a big one at the Barn at Power Ranch tomorrow night.
- Each one has been an opportunity to share our building plans and the heart that motivates them.
- I’ve been so encouraged by the conversations, questions, and excitement that has been apparent thus far.
- Been a great sense of unity for the owners and leaders who have been part of these meetings.
- And just really fun when you’ve spent a few years working on plans to be able to share them.
- After all the vision meetings are over, I’ll share more of the content online that we’ve been sharing in person.
- For now, though, I’ll share this story that I wrote for our architect when he asked us to write a narrative of somebody experiencing the new space.
- It makes me cry whenever I read it or talk about it.
- Just so deeply want people to meet Jesus through our ministry.
- Have also really enjoyed preaching the last few weeks about the Sermon on the Mount.
- Last Sunday in particular was a lot of fun for me.
- I had really wrestled with how Matthew 5:17 and Matthew 5:20 fit together and it was a blast to both figure it out through the study and then get to share it.
- The Sermon on the Mount turns everything we normally think on its head.
- Along those lines, I also really enjoyed hearing from Sarah Lords about her work with International Rescue Committee.
- You can read more of what we’re thinking here or join us for a lunch this Sunday at 12:15pm.
- These initiatives are related to the refugees that are already here and aren’t focused on the current debate about whether more should come.
- That said, the Scriptures have so much to say about loving the foreigner and overlooked that I think Christians are called to move toward refugees in love.
- After all, Jesus was an undocumented refugee in Egypt at one point, as he fled Herod’s genocide.
- I also think it’s so cool that while we often can’t get to the nations, God is allowing these horrible circumstances to lead the nations to us.
- In addition to some work with refugees, a number of other outward focused ministries are developing and strengthening at Gateway.
- If you want to keep up to speed with it, be sure to follow the Gateway Community & Global page on Facebook.
- In other news, the due date for baby #4 is just 6 days away.
- Molly is fine — still hot and uncomfortable.
- I think we’ve finally nailed down the names we’re planning for a boy or girl.
- Dang, has that been tough.
- Excited for the baby to come and spend a good chunk of time at home after what have been some crazy last few weeks.
- With football on TV, it’s all come at a great time.
- Alright, that’s all I have for today.
- Have a great day.
- All of life is all for Jesus.
