We Are Gospel Centered.

Gospel means good news, but it is truly the most profound and glorious truth ever revealed. It is not advice, nor is it a system or philosophy to add to our lives. It is an exclusive truth claim, a holistic worldview, the true story of the whole world, which by its very nature must redefine and recolor everything else. It is the truth of God’s mission to redeem and renew all things, centered on the historical reality of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus (1 Cor. 15:3-4). It is in Jesus – God in flesh, the promised Messiah, Savior, and rightful King over all – that the hope of salvation for individuals, societies, and all creation rests. It is in this truth that we now stand and are being saved (1 Cor. 15:1-2).

We Are Outward Focused.

As Jesus was sent by the Father to play the central role in God’s redemptive mission, the church has been sent by Jesus to play a part as well. We are called to be witnesses of the risen Lord Jesus, with the help of the Holy Spirit, testifying to his majesty and grace, modeling his redemptive power in every domain of life.

We Are Multi-Congregational.

Redemption is a united body of believers in multiple distinct local churches (or congregations) spread across Arizona. We are unified in doctrine, teaching, values, philosophy, and leadership. However, each congregation takes on a unique identity as it reflects the character of its neighborhood, responds to the needs of its people, and is shaped by the strengths and passions of its local leaders.

We are Reformed in our view of salvation.

To be more specific, we believe that the Calvinist tradition has provided the most clear and biblically faithful articulation of how God saves his people. We are careful to avoid creating idols out of theological systems and we recognize that there is a diversity within the Reformed tradition on a number of issues, such as baptism. But in relation to the question ‘How is a person saved?’, we rest in the sovereignty of God and proclaim that “by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:1-10).

We Are Non-denominational.

We do not submit to a governing body, but we are not isolated. We are closely connected to other churches through our network affiliations, and accountability is inherent in the multi-congregational leadership structure of Redemption Church.

We Are a Church Planting Church.

We highly value the training and equipping of young leaders. Some grow and serve faithfully within existing Redemption congregations, while some are called to take the gospel to new communities. We strive to equip and send qualified leaders to plant the gospel and grow healthy churches in a diversity of communities.
