Start Here

The best first step toward belonging is to attend our Start Here class. It’s a one-time class that will introduce you to Redemption Gateway. We’ll cover the church’s structure and mission, as well as give you simple first steps into the life of the church.

Simple Ways to Serve

We hope that every person who calls Gateway home will commit to serving in some capacity. Below are serving opportunities that exist on Sundays:

  • Small-Group Leader: Know, love, and center kids in our classroom environments. Commitment: Summer Season: weekly, June-July | Academic Season: weekly, August-May
  • Floater: Fill in every other week when a Small Group Leader is unable to serve.
  • Sub: Once a month commitment that allows for weekly volunteers to have space to rest.
  • Kids Check-in Team: Be the first point of contact for families – greeting and assisting as they check their kids into service. Commitment: 1 hour/Sunday
  • Greeters: Help create a warm, welcoming environment on Sunday mornings by greeting and assisting guests.
  • Communion: Prepare the communion elements for the Sunday gatherings.
  • Hospitality: Create a welcoming environment by greeting and serving guests coffee at the hospitality counter.
  • Guest Services Support Team: Provide additional volunteer support on big events such as Good Friday, Easter, Christmas Eve, or as needed.

For more info on how to begin serving in these roles, email our Next Steps Coordinator, Kyla Howey.

Take a step toward making meaningful connections and laying down roots at our church. In this four-week experience, the adult ministry team will walk you through our doctrinal statements, discuss our ministries and culture, and give you opportunities to get to know other people here at Gateway. Your ‘next step’ options after participating in Rooted include becoming a covenant member, joining a Redemption Community, and getting connected to serving teams.

Redemption Communities

Redemption Communities (RCs) are leader facilitated groups that typically meet in homes. Activities vary from group to group and week to week but may involve any combination of eating, learning, playing, sharing, celebrating, praying, and serving.

How to get connected to a small group

Fundamentals is a 2-3 month course designed to help newer Christians grow in their confidence and foundation in the basics of the Christian faith. After submitting this application, you will be paired with a mentor and 1 or 2 peers to form a Fundamentals Group.

Baptism is an immersion of a believer into water, symbolizing that he or she is united to Christ by faith, has experienced new birth, and professes a new allegiance to Jesus Christ. At Gateway, we typically practice baptisms during our services. Those who are eager to get baptized can contact the church to request being part of an upcoming celebration.

Note: When a child under age 12 wants to be baptized, the child’s parent(s) are required to meet with a pastor prior to the baptism celebration.
