My wife, Lynne and I are both Arizona natives and we currently live in Gilbert with our two pups, Mori and Zoey (65lbs and 6lbs respectively). Lynne graduated from Western Oregon University and is now a full-time freelance American Sign Language interpreter here in the Valley. I completed my undergrad at Arizona State and am currently working on my M.A. in Missional Theology at Missional Training Center, a satellite program of Covenant Theological Seminary, St. Louis. We love craft kitchens and specialty coffee (massive snobbery, yes), and if you’re thinking gift ideas, Lynne is a size 4.5 at Tiffany’s and I prefer a Single Malt from the Isaly region.

I was raised by parents who love and fear the Lord and made the local church a priority in our weekly rhythm. However while I would have claimed to be a Christian from a young age, it wasn’t until high school that I truly understood how desperately I needed grace. I realized that my soul longed for it’s identity to find rest in its Creator, not my Sunday school “straight A’s” (there were no grades- unless you asked me). Since then God has been daily shaping and forming me into Jesus’ image (my pride still puts up quite the fight) and I’ve been learning the joy of submitting to him as Teacher and Lord. My desire is for others to experience the present, transformative, life-giving reality of the Kingdom here and now and, by the grace and forgiveness of Jesus, join the redemptive mission of God as he works through his church to redeem and renew his Creation. If you see me, come say hi! I’d love to meet you.

The church’s witness among the nations is at heart the overflow of a gift.” – Lesslie Newbigin
